Sherri Donovan
Manager and Attorney
The producer, manager and attorney for the band is Sherri Donovan, Esq. She produced Brilho de Luz's first CD, "Ghetto Around the World" and their music video, "Ghetto". She is the co-owner of the band's record label Brazil Brooklyn Connection, Inc. Ms. Donovan has been featured as an expert on national television including but not limited to the Geraldo Show, The Montel Williams Show, Sharpton Live, CBS, NBC and MSNBC news. Her articles or feature stories about her have appeared in the Village Voice, Newsday, Crain's, Daily News, The Post, Amsterdam News and local newspapers.
Sherri Donovan has assisted musicians her entire life in various genres of rock to reggae to jazz to hip-hop. She has traveled extensivley throughout South America, Africa, Asia and Europe exposing her to world music, culture and languages.
Sherri Donovan has been an attorney since 1986 and has had her own law firm since 1988. She is a magna cum laude graduate of New York Law School, London School of Economics and Bennington College. Sherri Donovan is a former district leader, politician in Greenwich Village and an accomplished speaker and author. Her book "Hit Him Where It Hurts"-The Take No Prisoner's Guide to Divorce has been available on Amazon.com and in book stores since January 2007. Ms. Donovan has also received numerous community service awards throughout her career including one presented by Governor Cuomo.
Ms. Donovan states: I am committed to Brilho de Luz because of their unique sound, lyrics and positive message. The fusion of genres of music and the multicultural audience of all ages that we attract is special and uplifting. The talent is off-the-charts and the values stand for peace and love. My vision is that Brilho de Luz band will become an international peace messenger bringing the shinning light of music and a positive message to people in poverty and war-torn areas all over the world.
